Tomaszewski
He holds a PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, the Visum Archiv agency in Hamburg, the Image Collection agency in Washington, D.C., and the American Society of Magazine Photographers. He specializes in press photography and has published his photographs in leading Polish and international magazines, including Stern, Paris Match, GEO, the New York Times, Time, Fortune, Vogue, Die Zeit, and Elle. He has published several books: The Last Contemporary Polish Jews (by Małgorzata Niezabitowska), In Search of America (by Małgorzata Niezabitowska), Polish Gypsies, In the Center, Extraordinary Spain, A Stone's Throw, and Providing an Atmosphere of Kindness, and has illustrated several group works with his work. He has held numerous solo exhibitions in the USA, Canada, the UK, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Indonesia, Madagascar, and Poland. He is a recipient of Polish and international photography awards. He has been a contributor to National Geographic magazine for twenty-five years, publishing 18 photographic essays, and has served as the main consultant for its Polish edition since 1999.
