Arkadiusz Kubisiak impressed the National Geographic photography competition jury with his black-and-white series "Passing Shadows," winning the Grand Prix and first place in the "Photojournalism" category. Arkadiusz Kubisiak is also a winner of the prestigious BZ WBK PRESS PHOTO 2014 competition, and his series "Passing Shadows" took second place in the "Photojournalism" category.
Arkadiusz Kubisiak was born in 1968. He studied photography at the European Academy of Photography in Warsaw. He has participated in numerous photography workshops, including Transmission pour I'Image in Perpignan, France. He specializes in documentary photography with social themes and primarily pursues long-term projects in Poland and abroad. His work has received awards, including: His photographs were selected for the BZ WBK Press Foto 2014 and "National Geographic Polska" 2013 competitions, and he also received an honorable mention in the International Photography Award competition in the USA in 2013. His photographs were exhibited at The Art of Photography Show in the USA in 2013 and at the Warsaw Festival of Artistic Photography in 2011. Arkadiusz Kubisiak describes himself as: "I strive to show stories, engage the viewer in situations that interest me, and tell stories worth telling. I like to work slowly, not focusing on events."
