The "Passing Shadows" project, carried out over the past three years, was dedicated to one of Radom's oldest districts – Kazimierzowski. The exhibition is a subjective description of urban space, where people are the main characters. The project's author says:
I first encountered Radom's Old Town in the summer of 2011. The scenes I observed then were reminiscent of a world awakening after the war. People were renovating buildings, reinforcing walls with beams, and fighting for food. I took only a few photos then, but the images they captured kept coming back to me. I realized that this world was quickly disappearing. In the fall of 2012, I returned to the Old Town, this time with the unwavering conviction that I wanted to tell its story while I still could.
Arkadiusz Kubisiak captivated the jury of the National Geographic photography competition with his black-and-white series "Passing Shadows," winning the Grand Prix and first place in the "Photojournalism" category. Arkadiusz Kubisak is also a winner of the prestigious BZ WBK PRESS PHOTO 2014 competition, and the series "Passing Shadows" took second place in the "photojournalism" category.
